With only five minutes left to finish the scene, actor Ashley Walters made a mistake that forced the entire shoot to restart. The incident occurred during the filming of the second episode of “Adolescence”.

Ashley Walters, who plays Detective Luke Bascombe in “Adolescence,” opened up about a mistake he made while filming one of the episodes of the Netflix series.

The streaming giant’s latest hit had all four one-hour episodes filmed in a single continuous take. If the actors made a mistake, the entire scene had to be redone from the start.

That’s exactly what happened to Ashley Walters during the filming of the second episode.

“In episode two, I’m chasing a boy at the end, and I ended up calling my son by the boy’s real name instead of the character’s name — right at the end of the scene,” the “Top Boy” actor told Capital Xtra Breakfast.

Walters said he was shaken because he felt he had let everyone on set down. “It’s like a football team, man. Everyone plays together. And I felt terrible, almost crying,” he shared.

“The director, Philip Barantini, came to talk to me afterward because I was devastated. You know when you feel like you’ve messed everything up? Like you’ve let everyone down,” he admitted.

He said Barantini tried to comfort him by saying the character could have been disoriented, which would justify the confusion. But Ashley Walters simply asked to start again.
